Just as I predicted 3 years ago. Google can't commit to anything except search and advertising, and they continue to destroy their credibility, customer trust and abandon their employees. Android is slowly being abandoned too.
What should be no surprise to anyone who pays close attention to Google and the tech biz, Google is shutting down Stadia, its cloud based, streaming gaming service. Just as I predicted 3 years ago when Stadia launched in Nov 2019..
Maybe Never I predict Google will give up and kill this, like it’s done so many times before. And it will be years before streaming gaming from anyone makes any sense at all.
If ever.It might never make sense, because the UX and front end keeps advancing. Graphics at HD, then 4K, HDR, 8K, then what’s next ? Streaming gaming can’t keep up with just HD now. It may just keep making more sense to put the horsepower in front end hardware, and continue to use the Internet for networking players.
I’m sure glad I didn’t take that job at Google boy…. Google cancels products and projects way way more than they follow through with them. Then employees are left struggling to find another job within Google all by themselves, or be fired. Google just doesn’t take care of their employees. Their leadership screws up, can’t commit to products, and leaves their employees to suffer for their mistakes.
From Nov 2019 when Stadia was launched
Color me surprised !!! Google’s Stadia streaming gaming platform is running into some troubles.
Wouldn’t be the first time that Google has stumbled with products old and new. They kinda have a history of shipping half baked products. Basically their product strategy seems to be to throw stuff on the wall and see if it sticks. Google’s Stadia will be in some good, and some bad company. Can anyone say Motorola acquisition ?
And there’s a “Boy Who Cried Wolf” factor — except instead of a little boy who lacks credibility, it’s one of the five largest corporations in the world. When Google next launches a platform, how much does this affect their credibility? Frankly, their credibility was already shit on this front.
Android is slowly being abandoned too. And don’t trust Chrome OS to stick around either.
Why, you ask ? Well, you must be new around here, so I got a bridge to sell ya’ !!!!
MONEY !!! There’s no big money in Android, Chrome OS and many others. Or no quick money. Google can’t commit to a long play. And they release things that aren’t fully cooked, like Stadia.
Like they say in criminal investigates, follow the money. That’s also an essential strategy in understanding why most corporations do what they do.
Google has a habit of killing projects only a few years after they launch, and Stadia, a cloud gaming service from a company with few ties in the gaming industry, seemed like a prime candidate for an early demise.
And while Stadia’s approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, it hasn’t gained the traction with users that we expected so we’ve made the difficult decision to begin winding down our Stadia streaming service.
Stadia was doomed from the drawing board. Oh, let me count the ways.

So Predictable

“You’d be a damn fool” to Trust Google
