Apple Silicon Macs Are About More Than Just Better Performance

Apple transitioning Macs from Intel to their own silicon will achieve a great deal more than just better performance. Just look at everything they've packed into the A series SoCs used in iPhones and iPads. I've worked at Apple, so I know this was inevitable.

The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal are getting it wrong, regarding Apple's motives of transitioning Macs from Intel processors to their own Apple Silicon. Maybe they need reporters that understand Apple.
Update after update, Microsoft just keeps breaking Windows. More proof that it was a good move, when I dumped Win-Blows for Mac. It was 10 years ago when I went Mac and never looked back.
They Are Lying To You. Defend yourself. Protect your country. Fight for our Constitution. By taking up Obama's call to action. VOTE.
Apple and Google's joint efforts to develop tech to support COVID-19 contact tracing is starting to appear. But for now it's just APIs. To make it work, we need health systems to build support for it into apps.
Apple was founded 44 years ago today, on April 1, 1976. And it's philosophy then, still looks a lot like the Apple we know today.
The coolest thing about the new iPad Pro isn't the hardware, it's the trackpad and mouse support in iPadOS 13.4. Apple announced trackpad and mouse support in iPadOS 13 - sorta. But in iPadOS 13.4 it's now for real.
The new 2020 iPad Pro adds some cool features for sure, but it's not the big improve that is typical. That's actually not a bad thing.
Apple having an official presence at CES 2020 is the first time in decades that they have attended is huge. And for it to be about HomeKit makes it doubly huge.
Apple announced that Amazon, Apple, Google, Zigbee Alliance and board members form working group to develop open standard for smart home devices. That should be very good for home automation by promoting open standards, and Apple's focus in HomeKit on security, among other things, should benefit every company and customer invested in home automation.
Apple last week published its Apple Platform Security Guide that sets the standard for security good practices. I've just written 3 blog posts about security and privacy and noted how much better Apple is then pretty much every other tech company in the same product areas.
Opening up HomeKit is a great step forward for Apple. HomeKit security is superior to home automation tech from Amazon, Google, Samsung, etc. But Apple needs to do more to push HomeKit forward.
